Spectral AV racks

I will be purchasing a large HD display in the next couple of months or so and been looking around for a stylish AV rack.
Oddly though, the rack is not to support the display (which would probably go on the wall) but to sit my gigantic ProAc CC2 centre speaker, which is a bit of a beast and currently sits on a shelf above my CRT TV.
I don't want to get a rack just for the speaker as I think that'd look a bit naff, so been looking for a long and low unit which could hold the rest of my kit.
I've found a few Spectral racks that I really like the look of and I think they could easily hold the weight of my CC2 (sitting on top). Has anyone got these and if so are they worth the high price? I saw one last week and the finish and quality was exceptional and you can get them in various finishes and different drawer/shelf options.

cheers

I like Spectral

I've got a pair of Spectral speaker stands for my rear speakers, they took some getting hold of but I got there in the end. Not many people seem to stock the Spectral range: I guess that is down to the price as much as anything else?

Anyway, my experience is that their products are of very good build quality and they look fantastic as well. I'm sure that the rest of their range will be very good.

Thanks. I saw the unit similar to the above, at Sevenoaks, and it was incredibly good build quality. It should be able to accomodate my kit, meaning I can get rid of my hifi rack and TV unit and have just one stylish unit.
Only thing holding me back is the price. It's very expensive. I was hoping more people would stock it so that I could get a deal somewhere but so far I've only found a couple of retailers that sell it and they have no special deals
Anyway I don't really need it until I get my display which is still a few months away.

cheers

See this month's What Hi-Fi

There is an advert for a company that 'specialises' in av racks and furniture. They have a near identical rack to the one in your photo but its not a Spectral one. I will post the details tonight when I get home.

There will be 'clones' of these things all over the place, I guess the skill is finding the best price/quality combination.

Hi mate,

I think you may be talking about Home Cinema Stands
If so, then they also do Spectral range and it's similarly priced to other places, ie no discount/special deals

Hello

I am also looking at the spectral range and have been searching for shops that sell this range, but without much success. I have noticed a few sites that do them online, cheapest so far is [url deleted] but I am still searching around before I plunge and spend all my money!

If anyone else has found any other sites that sell the spectral range online in the uk, please let me know

Hi mate,

Apart from Home Cinema Stands (see link above) and certain Sevenoaks branches, the only other site that I know of is Creative-Audio. Here's a link to their Spectral stand range.

cheers,
