I saw a good black glass 3 shelf unit in my local Currys store. It was a nice looking unit with chrome legs etc. and looked really solid. I can't remember the make though. I don't know if this will help.

Atacama do a nice stand called the Equinox AV. It is more expensive than the one you have @ about £300-£350 for the full-sized 3-shelf version, but it is really nice.

Comes in a range of colours including piano-black & silver etc.

V.nice.

Kind of tempted myself....

How about this

Which you can get from here

For £12 quid over your budget. I've just bought the 50" version from these guys, and I couldn't find a better price online - their service was excellent too

The unit is top quality, with really heavy glass shelves, and a tension rod in the legs.

Hope this helps

Dave

Hi. Just bought a Serano 1050 with black glass in Currys for the special offer price of £129.99. I haven't built it yet but it looked good in the shop and the price was dead on. One question though, it says it will take plasma up to 42" but only up to 32" for an LCD. Why the difference?.

Would have thought it was the other way around... plasma's are heavier.

Shelf space

Hi guys. Does anyone have the measurements between the shelves for the Serano S1050? Need to find out whether my kit will fit when stacked on top of each other. Thanks.

The 1050 for £129??? Just before Xmas the SB800 was £129 at my local Currys ( wish I'd got it then) but it's £170 now in most of the stores I've been to.

I agree that it looks nice though

We thought it was too good to be true, £129.99, when we said we wanted one the 'salesboy' looked on his computer and said it was only that price if you bought it with a telly. I pointed out that it did not say that on the price sticker on the unit so he agreed to sell it at the advertised price, bless him!

The distance between the shelves is 200mm and the legs are 85mm. Hope this helps.

I have Just bought the Serano SB1050 from Currys and it looks just the ticket with my new Samsung LE32 41BD LCD. Price £149.99. This is the best looking stand I have seen for the price.

Serano stand £99 at Currys when buying a TV.

I've just bought one from Currys, nice to see that people in this thread think highly of it. It was half price when buying a big TV (Hitachi PD427200), reduced from £199 to £99, if anyone else is in the market for a stand for their new TV.

By the way, what is the unit width? I'd prefer that the TV wasn't wider than the stand itself.
