Thanks: Gave 630, Got 420 | Alphason AD3/105PB Piano Black - Any Views? http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/ProductDe...UNumber=102665
Anyone got any views on this? I am looking for a black stand to go with a TV I hope to buy which will be 40". It also needs to hide the wire, any cheaper options, be it from Ikea or Argos, doesnt have to be glass.

I've ordered one of these, should be delivered this week, was approx £260 delivered. I've bought it for a Sony 42" rear pro TV!

hi ashmufc,
They make the alphason stand you are purchasing, with and without the centre stand at rear, which you can put all your cabling through, if you buy a stand without centre pole, you can contact alphason directly, for cable tidy kit, or just buy one from whs for about 4.99!.
looking at the link you provided, it actually says cable tidy feature" (that will be the centre stand at the rear, (although it is not showing on the pic).
see hear: http://www.alphasondesigns.com/produ...5s/index.shtml
hope this helps.

Does anyone have any idea of the weight loading for the bottom two shelves?
I know most units are 25Kg but I think that is with 6mm glass,is the 8mm any stronger?
I have a Yamaha amp that weights 22kg on its own but need to put a couple of other bits on the bottom shelf as well.

Did the stand from RGB Direct come with the cable tidy centre pole at the rear? Are you happy with it? I can't decide between the clear glass and black version.

the top glass is 10mm thick tempered glass..... can take upto a 50" plazma.
i looked up the weight of a 50" pioneer it said its weight is 60kg
mid and bottom shelf are 8 mm thick tempered glass.
i have 2 of these stands here but with clear glass... 105s
( black proberly does look nice. but imho black will show up dust very quickly. )
so if 10mm thick can take 60kg..... 8mm should be around 48kg ?
in theory anyways.
