can anyone recommend a wall bracket that will swing out 90 degrees from flat against the wall, one that will cope with a 37 inch plasma?

Thumbs up

Not cheap by any means - £460-£500 (or more ) depending on where you buy it...

- but rock-solid, high quality engineering. You can even fit a motor with R/C later if you like :

Try the range from Premier Mounts,

http://www.premiermounts.com/adapter.asp?PartID=37

this, as with others, needs an adaptor to convert the plate up to the screen mount style that you have.
