Modified MFI Side Board - Looks Good!

I'm very pleased with how this has turned out so thought I would share it on the forums.

I ordered one of these from MFI : http://www.mfi.co.uk/mfi/FinalProduc...=*&SKU=SRM1131

I included an extra plinth running front to back along the base to halve the span as the TV is heavy. (36" Tosh about 85kg) cut back from the front so it can't be seen.

I got a B&W CC6 S2 centre speaker that just fits on the shelf in the middle. I moved the shelf up so the speaker is as near to the screen as possible. I then made up a frame from softwood and covered in in dark brown speaker fabric, fitted some magnetic door stops (like those that hold kitchen doors closed) to hold the cover in place.

I fitted a (supplied) panel to the back of the sideboard behind the centre area to provide some cross-bracing and left the backs off the left and right so the hardware is well ventilated.

The sideboard actually comes with the brused steel handles.

I've tidied up the cables since the photo was taken. Cost about £250 all in.

how could you not? Give a woman a couple of square inches of unfilled horizontal space and they'll bung in ornaments!

... and I thought they were less banal than the print ... oh well

I put the vases there because I'm a lady and I like to do ladies things!!

Not really. Anyone see the ball game last night.

I'll have to start a new thread about artwork in your home cinema. They would mostly be film posters but mine are 'classic art' apparently! (Soft porn to me! )

The photo has gone really blurred having compressed it to fit the forums and it doesn't really do it justice. Of course now I need a plasma ......as it would make more room for vases and ornaments dear
