Centre speaker stand

Just ordered pio 43xde with floating shelf and a sony dav-lf1 I don't think there will be room for the centre speaker on the shelves or on top of the screen

so I was wondering about fitting it to a speaker stand so it is just above the screen in the centre.

Q) Is this advisable/ practical??

Anyone know of a stand that will do the job, it will prolly have to be bent / angled forward to sit in line with the top edge of the screen.

Any advice appreciated

Don't see why that would be a problem - I think its always better to isolate your speakers from your kit anyway. Not sure of any suitable stands though.

Not sure on your room setup but have you thought about either:

(a) wall mounting a centre speaker, there are a few available that are suitable for this (I have one) - can't remember the models off-hand but if you are interested I can suggest a few that I was looking at and the one I got.
or
(b) mounting a shelf to the wall above the plasma to sit a speaker on - I am sure you could get a nice looking shelf to match your setup and that way you are not restricted to wall-mounted centre's

thanks for the reply, the system is going across the corner of the room and a wall mount or shelf would not really me acceptable, I thought that someone on the forum may also have had this problem and used a speaker stand as a solution

Hi ,

I have exactly the same problem. I have a corner mounted Philips 32PF9986 LCD and need to mount a QUAD L Centre as neatly as possible in the corner just above the top of the screen, pointing slightly down and away from the corner. Need help finding a suitable solution which my better half will be happy with! Are there suitable wall mounted brackets which swivel and then lock into position and which are largely invisible!!

Thanks,

Brian
