Looking for a stand for a 42 inch plasma

Hello

Just ordered my new Panasonic 42. Looking for a stand. I saw the Alphason adp396s at John Lewis - £450 seems a lot though

I like the "double" stands - if you know what I mean. That are the whole length of the tv, and can fix two devices on one shelf next to each other. I.e. the wider ones.

Any good suggestions? How much am I looking to spend?

Thanks!

Hi AkhilStyle,

If you want to mount your screen on a column (as with the ADP3/96S you mention) then you might like the Alphason AG94/2S, for £300 from here http://www.shopatdigital.co.uk/acatalog/AG942S.html

Alternatively, if you buy a pedestal stand for the Panny you could put it on an Alphason AD3/105, which has plenty of shelf space for all your kit, and comes in at around £280 from http://www.tvandvideodirect.com/product.php?xProd=105

If, at the end of the day, you prefer the ADP3/96S that you have already seen, then you can save £70 by buying it here http://www.be-direct.co.uk/productDetails.asp?id=16478

Obviously, if you shop around, you may find all of them cheaper, but these seem quite good prices

Good luck with the quest!

I purchased a KM1050 from Currys on thursday for £99.99. I think it is a little wider than the 1180 but looks very similar (Currys sales guy said he `thinks` the 1050 has thicker glass but had no 1180s in stock to check).

I have a panny 42-PWD7 and there is room to spare either side.

Oh, the stand was on display with old price of £129 so if you see one at that price, get them to check on their system.

Uhmmmm. Thought I had been hit by the 'great buy it then they drop the price' syndrome. Just had a look at Currys site and they are still showing the KM1050 at £99.99 + £4.99 delivery. Was It the KM1050 or 1180?

Anyway, if it is the 1050 that's a real bargain on an already great buy. I am certainly glad I didn't buy an Alphason stand and the saving can go on a component board!

I think all Currys outlets are now out of these stands (KM-1180) as I had to ring round about 25 branches and finally had to travel 120 miles to get one.

They had two left so I bought both as I thought a friend of mine may want one but he had already splashed out on an Alphason version the day before DOH!

If you fancy having a bid just search for the phrase "PLASMA / LCD AV / HOME CINEMA STAND" on eBay!

The various stores I called said that they wouldn't transfer stock. You can get them to reserve the stand but only for that day.

Got the 1180 for £60 in Belfast - Originally sold me the 1050 as a 1180 but I went back in and told them that it was not wide enough so they had one on display whuch they swapped with me

Set it up last night great table at a great price
