Automated Cabinet

I'm looking for an automated cabinet so that my centre speaker can disappear when not in use (B&W HTM1). It will sit under my new Pioneer 50MXE-1 plasma.

It should be large enough to house my Bryston amps 2 x 7B SSTs and a 6B SST.

It would also be nice to get it in Cherrywood or black leather to match my B&W N800s.

I really like the Longbow Modena cabinet and was just wondering if anyone has had this customized for a centre speaker lift?

I think these cost about £4K+ can anyone confirm this?

Why not ring Longbow and ask? www.longbow-sp.co.uk

They can custom build a cabinet with lift to lift whatever you want.

Standard modena lifts start from about £4kish upwards, no idea how much they'd charge to custom build one.

Thanks fraggle,

I contacted them about two weeks ago, and they agreed to forward a quote. They didn't seem too keen to quote or help . I don't mind spending this sort of money but would rather deal with a company who wants my business.

Anyone got personal experiences with Longbow?

Hi Gazza

I had similar experiences to you, I was going to spend nearly £5000 with them, but their attitude stinks - they never bothered to follow up my call, three times in a row!. so I decided to take my business elsewhere

I went to a show in Birmingham last month, and found these potential companies who could help. Kube design, FX furniture, Automated Furniture Ltd.

Cheers

Steve

Hello gazza982

I often find its just as much/little work to find a local cabinet maker who can manufacturer exactly what you require; and not much more expensive than bastardising a 'standard' issue rack.

Drop me a note if you need any help.

Thanks Joe,

Could you send me a Lumagen composite low pass filter cable for RGBS obviously BNC at both ends?

Regards

Joe,

Longbow have now replied and can make the cabinet exactly how I want it. In your opinion can the quality be bettered by other custom cabinet makers?

Regards

Garry
