Hi everyone,
I currently have my Denon 2900 and Yamaha RX-V730RDS sat on a very wobbly £20 stand from Argos.

I don't want to spend much money on a stand as a have read that they don't make much difference to the sound, so I decided to take the wheels of my existing stand (which has made it much less wobbly) and try the squash ball thing.
I have cut my balls in half as best I can (quite a painful task

) and put them under my kit with the cut half down. I have placed one in each corner but both pieces of kit have feet on so I have put the balls under the feet. Anyway, doing this seems to make the kit much more wobbly again? Can anyone tell me if I have done this correctly? Or if anyone has had the same experience (ie wobbly kit)? Also, is it really such a good idea (does it really improve the sound)?
Unfortunately, I put some large rug underlay down (I have a wooden floor) at the same time as the squash balls and although I have had a great improvement in the sound (it is much tighter and seems to have more life), I don't know whether this has come from the underlay or the squash balls.
Any help/suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
