Low , Narrow TV Stand/Cabinet

Hello All,

I have been looking for a tv stand/cabinet for months, but cant find the right one.

The max dimensions are:

Height : 40cm max
Depth : 35cm max ( this measurement is fixed, it cannot be deeper)
Length : around max 100cm

We are open to finishes, but the main theme in our living room is solid oak but we are also open to glass/stainless steel ( no chrome) if the finish is good.

We are quite taken by the cabinets sold here, but too deep unfortunately

Milan LCD and Plasma TV Support Range - customdesign.co.uk :

Any suggestions?
Much appreciated

Re: Low , Narrow TV Stand/Cabinet

Similar problem for me as well.

Have been trawling through the web for low height TV stand for 42" TV. The height of the stand has to be between 40cm and 45cm

Any suggestions anyone?

Hi
Try our advanced search Set as follows
Product type > TV Stand : Product width > 71cm to 100cm : Product depth > 40cm or less : Product height 50cm or less
you will find some glass and wood finish stands in the selection, you could also modify the search to find different products.

Hey Kierangray1982,

The Custom Design Milan Range are a very good choice! English Company, English Product! Enough said!

From experience I know you will struggle to find an AV Stand or TV Stand Manufacturer that makes a stand 35cm deep (unless you go for a cantilever TV Stand). The standard seems to be 40cm I suspect this is due to the depth of most AV kit eg: DVDs, Amps ETC.

How big/heavy in the TV and kit to be?

Had you thought about getting something custom made?

Cheers

J

Hey jonthiru,

customdesign.co.uk :

The product above is the Milan range but key things with this product is the side supports are available in different heights!! (Costs more tho but that's something to be looked into later if you want to). If you have the 200mm shelf spacings you would not be able to have the cable management system.

Also the XS Milan (the one in the link) is available with a centre wooden support between the bottom and middle shelf too. I would recommend this as the glass is only 6mm and only really supports 15-20 kg per shelf. The top shelf is 10mm so a 42" TV should be fine!

Hope this helps.

Cheers

J

This is one I am currently concidering, although probably a darker finish than the rest of your furniture.
Denver Low TV Unit - Easy Living Furniture

Also John Lewis have a couple of units
http://www.johnlewis.com/230606138/Product.aspx
http://www.johnlewis.com/230630290/Product.aspx

All 3 are 36cm deep so if there really is not an extra CM probably no good.

Thanks guys.

There are some really nice pieces of essential furniture recommended.

The missus is paying a very close attention. Got to match the curtains, if you know what I mean.....

Some nice cabinets in this thread - cheers.

This is my "temporary" one, it was supposed to only be until I found something else (don't worry, the radiator IS off).

Crap photo, I know, just wanted to give you the idea. As you can see, it collects dust like...

It's two Ikea Lack benches mated together.

IKEA | TV solutions | TV solutions for tube TVs up to 25'' | LACK | TV bench

Spare top is being a shelf somewhere else.

Sorry for the delay.

The units are typical Ikea - couple of dowels and a couple of cam-lock things, and the holes are usually roughly in the same place.

What I did was take the base from one and re-drill the underside (maximum of 4 holes, can't remember) so that it matched the underside of the redundant top, and the redrilled base became the middle shelf. If that makes any sense.
