stil-STUK2053CHBL or Allcam FS205

Guys,

I'm expecting my Sony KDL40W5710 screen to be delivered on saturday coming, and am looking to pick up a reasonably affordable TV Stand, ideally a cantilever style. I'm looking at the Allcam FS205 and the Stil Stuk 2053CHBL.

Any reccomendations \ comments about each of these? I assume either will support the sony screen, but whats the general consensus around quality etc?
which would you reccomend?

stil Stuk - http://www.big-av.co.uk/acatalog/stuk2053chbl.html

Allcam - http://www.allcam.biz/catalog/produc...roducts_id=584

The stil STUK is £99 and the allcam is £130 plus p&p.

Thanks

You may also wish to consider the Alphason - AA-2G-BR. Its similar to the Stil stand (which is a nice stand for the money, my mother-in-law has it) but it has a swivel facility and also a cable management system. the stil stand has neither of these features.

Alphason - AA-2G-BR | Clear Glass Cantilever LCD TV Stand | BIG AV

looks good - but I really fancy a black glass model - doesn't look like it comes in black!

Sounds like the stil stand is out as it has no cable management, but i did notice this stand - what do you think?

Plasma TV Bracket - LCD TV Bracket - Hitachi TV Bracket - Desktop Mount - 50 Plasma TV Bracket - 32 LCD Mount - 37 LCD Mount - 40 LCD TV Bracket - 42 Plasma Backet

slightly funky!

That is indeed a funky stand. Although, my only concern would be that the glass is only supported at the centre. Whilest it will be toughened and more than capable of supporting most AV equipment, what if somethin or someone leans or falls against it. Could be pretty costly!! Not to mention messy!

Hi,

Whaat about this stand-

Aquila FAV-S19B

All black in finish with a swivel bracket, it is very similar to the Stil but with a superior cable management system, all cabling is run through the central circular column.

Good point - well made - but nonetheless, i'm still tempted by this one

Paul, I do like that Aquila stand, but I prefer the black with the chrome legs - that'd do it for me. But all said and done, I reckon its got to be the funky imount for me!

thanks for all the input guys, appreciatte it!

by the way, i've seen pictures of the imount stand in all black finish, but its not shown on their website - anybody know any other vendors that may offer this?

thx all

I was / am looking at the exact same 2 stands - the Stil stand is out due to lack of cable management (thanks to this thread ) but what the allcam has that the others doesn't is a small raised centre shelf for centre speaker... which, although i prefer the designs of the latter mentioned stands, is swaying me atm.

Did you find any other potentials / suggestions that have centre speaker shelf?

Thanks

Hi,

There is a 3 shelf version of the FAV-S19B, the FAV-S193B, it is currently out of stock but will be back in early to mid December. Unlike the Allcam which does not offer any cable management whatsoever and the Stil Stuk 2053 which offers limited cable management the Aquila stand offers a comprehensive cable tidy where the cables are concealed from all angles within the round central column.

If you like the Allcam make sure your centre speaker doesn't weigh over 10kg, these types of small shelves do not offer alot of support as they are only supported from one side, you should be OK with a lighter centre speaker but the last thing you want is for your home cinema system to come crashing down.

Thanks for getting in touch, I had seen the FAV-S19B and excluded it for a number of reasons. By way of feedback, altho I understand you don't manufacture the unit, I would say:

- It looks quite menacing for a living room
- The space between the top shelf and the tv bottom edge almost makes it pointless being a cantilever unit as the gap would be similar to that of the standard table top stand supplied with the tv
- the 3rd shelf being used as centre speaker shelf is overkill
- the allcam does have cable management (albeit maybe not as comprehensive as this unit)
- the gap between shelves is not large enough for an Onkyo AV Receiver.

On top of which, it doesn't seem to represent value/functionality for the additional 66% cost.
