Child Friendly Stands

I'm looking to buy a 42-46" lcd tv (not decided on tv yet) but need to find a suitable child friendly stand too. I have young kids which could quite easily knock the telly over so need a stand and tv which can be fixed in place.

I've seen a couple of cantilever stands which are suitable but ideally don't want one of those. Would Ideally like a normal oak stand such as you get from next or similar.

Can anyone advise if anything suitable? or if theres any tv's which can be fixed?

Thanks.

Hi,

A cantilever TV stand is the only option if you want the TV to be attached, why don't you like the idea of a cantilever TV stand?

Alternatively a wooden TV stand which is heavy should be OK.

Re: Child Friendly Stands

The wife wants a wooden stand (ideally oak colour or dark brown) to go with the decor. I'm happy with the black glass cantilever on your site.

the weight of the stand ism't so much an issue just need it fixed to the stand. My daughter has a knack of pushing the tv so it would topple off the back. Luckily I have a 36" crt which weighs a ton at the moment but if I switch to an lcd.........

Re: Child Friendly Stands

Hi,

There are a couple of wooden cantilever TV stands-

Take a look at the Alphason Accent TV Stands.

Alternatively you could wall mount the set and place a neat AV rack like the blok AV stands underneath.

Best regards

Re: Child Friendly Stands

Hi

I have a child friendly alternative mounted in my house which is our TV corner bracket;

M-Form - 32" to 52" Corner Bracket With 2 Shelves

Depending on how much equipment you want to hold, you can mount this high enough away from the kids and it will also hold your DVD player/SKY box or whatever. It will also free up precious floorspace compared to a stand.
