My ikea "lack" side table hack plan.

May not be much of a hack but I believe it's cheap, effective and suits my needs. The lack side table is £5 or £8 depending on your colour choice.

I plan to buy five of them and stack them vertically to house the following:
AV Receiver, PS3, Xbox360, VBox.

The table is 55cm square so is quite large for the consoles but atleast it will look tidy. The legs are 40cm tall and i'll have five sets of them so I can cut them to size.
Vertically the whole unit will be 75cm tall, the same height as the desk it will be next to. Each shelf and leg is 5cm tall/wide so it works out like this.

top - plant or photo frame.
top tier - vbox
2nd tier - Xbox360
3rd tier - PS3 Slim
4th tier - Av Receiver

That's 50cm plus 20cm for the actual shelves + 5cm on the bottom as feet

So for £25 or £40 (Black-Brown is £8) I have an AV rack that holds exactly what I want it to at ideal sizes and blends well with the other furniture.

I will have a 140cm wide/75cm tall desk which the TV will be mounted above..
This will be a work desk doubling up as a makeshift tv cabinet stand furniture thing holding the front three speakers plus keyboard/mouse.

I'm thinking of building 2 ikea lack av racks and having one either side, the second will hold the sub at the bottom and have device chargers and maybe a laptop on it.

I hope this may prove useful to somebody who wants a practical solution at a practical cost.

Steven.

No. My cousin has one of these tables and the legs have screws in them for screwing into the table itself. That's just on one side of the legs though so I will use some double sided screws on the other ends. The only downside is that the tops of the table surfaces will have holes in them in each corner but they will only be visible if using each table seperately, which I won't be doing.
