What Rack ?

Hi guys,

I desperately need to source a 19" rack for my AV cupboard.... can anyone point me to a cost effective solution - everything that i've found so far seems to be silly money...

thx
Kev

Re: What Rack ?

Hi,

I'm not sure of your exact requirements or layout, but I originally looked at 19" racking for a cupboard, but in the end opted for a custom build using rails mounted into a false wall following advise on this forum. I found the cost of proper racks was too great, but the custom route was much cheaper and obviously can be made to the exact size. My 15U "rack" cost around £150 including shelving etc.

19" data rack domestic installation - where can I find examples?

As I say though, maybe not appropriate in your case.

Rob

Re: What Rack ?

thanks.... good thinking.

Also, searching a bit more throughly - i found quite a cost effective solution at

Professional Audio Equipment Pro Audio Stash - 19 Inch Racking, Flight Case Hardware, Rack Cases, Neutrik Connectors and Cables

these look pretty cost effective, by far the best value i'd seen - All i need to do now is do my 'u' count so i know what size i need..... thinking 28u probably.

Thanks.
Kev

Re: What Rack ?

Check out networking outfits, I've seen lots of racks skipped when new units are installed, thats how I managed to score a 42U rack for free.

Re: What Rack ?

Try Cable-Monkey as well, they are the retail arm of Connectix, a well respected manufacturer here in the UK
