Floating Glass Shelves or Metal Brackets For AV Receiver & HTPC

I am looking for some floating (wall mounted) glass shelves or minimalist metal brackets for my AV Receiver and HTPC. Obviously both these items weigh a fair bit, at least a fair bit more than a DVD Player or TV Receiver.

The problem is, that all the ‘floating’ brackets I see on the Internet are made for DVD Players/TV Receivers/Games Consoles. Hence, they are unsuitable to take the weight of the two items I am looking to mount under my Plasma?

Anyone have any recommendations for possible solutions?

Re: Floating Glass Shelves or Metal Brackets For AV Receiver & HTPC

Right, I have found precisely what I need - the Stands Unique Transition Wall System. However, at £250 a piece, it's ever so slightly out of my price range, by a few hundred pounds to be exact.

Thus, following on from this thread back in 2005, I'm going to get my own glass cut.

I require brackets, and I'm unsure whether two of these per shelf would be sufficient for an amp and HTPC.

Anyone have any suggestions for minimalist but more appropriate brackets?

Hi,

I couldn't say for sure but based on TV stands we have had in the past which use similar brackets I would think that they would not be strong enough to support an AV amp, I think you need something which supports the whole of the glass shelf and not just one end.
