SPECTRAL style Catena unit or similar

does anyone know of any companies that have a Spectral Catena style unit available? I am ideally looking for a closed minimalist look.

- or if anyone is doing any good deals on them? I know they are build to order with a 10 - 12 week build time.

ikea friel is pretty good but won't house my Arcam P7, needs to be at least 300mm high x 550mm depth x 2000mm wide I would say.

cheers!

Hi,

We are a official Spectral dealer, have you also seen the Spectral Brick range?

Take a look at-

BDI TV Furniture
Jahnke Studio Line
Jahnke Studio Line Concept
Salamander Designs TV Stands

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Depending on where you are for Paul, we have access to the Catena range as well.

actually would any of the spectral Brick range work with an Arcam P7 power amp? The unit is about 180mm high x 430mm wide and needs a clearance of at least 500mm at the back for cables etc.

Just worried of the overheating issues if the unit is too close to the top/shelf/sides.

- if not, could you quote for 1 of the catena bespoke units to fit this, see measurements from previous post. Prefer the white body with orange front drop down style, but also quote for the plain white and full aluminium style also.

cheers

Re: SPECTRAL style Catena unit or similar

Hi,

The Catena will cost around £4000 for your specification, the Spectral Brick BR2000 is much better value, the BR2000 has a depth of 525mm so you should be OK for depth, the side compartments have removable back panels, these are held in place with powerful magnetic strips but could be removed if you really needed extra depth, the shelf in the side compartments is adjustable or totally removable so you will be OK for ventilation above the amp, the side compartments have an internal width of 480mm.

As for the colour of the Brick, the cabinet sides are only available in black but the glass fronts and top are totally customisable and can be made in any colour.

Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

hi Paul,

is there something similar to this that would fit my arcam p7,

Spectral - BR1502 | Spectral Brick TV Cabinet | BIG AV

I'd like to have the minimal look of a closed unit rather than a mixture of open and closed.

cheers!

Hi Rob,

Most nearly all Spectral items are built to order so very few dealers have access to them any quicker than anyone else! I suspect knowing how tight the economy is at the moment most people will say anything for a sale!

Anyone who promises you before Christmas for delivery is simply lieing! (unless they happen to have that item in stock - which is VERY unlikely - Trust me on that I know )

Realistically you would be looking at delivery for around the middle to end of January for Spectral items. Spectral are fantastic quality and worth the wait as they are unique units but it's all down to the wife exceptance factor. Can you wait that long?

It might be worth considering Jahnke? or Salamander? or prehaps getting a piece of furniture custom made?

Cheers

J

How does ventilation and cable access work on the catena if its wall mounted? Very much like the look but need to convince myself its worth spending this type of money. The 4k figure thrown around above, what kind of width/height would that get so I can work out whether its just too crazy on cost...

If so I'll probably save a heap and get a BDI as I don't like the cheaper spectral stuff.

Hi encom80,

As has been mentioned by other people on this thread I don't think you will find a dealer who has any Spectral units in stock. If you would consider ex-dispaly units you could give Harrods a call as they usually have several Spectral units on display, but not sure of the model/colour/condition.

In terms of delivery my Closed unit took 14 weeks to arrive, but when you see the quality of the unit the wait is well worth it. I tried looking for alternatives, but nothing came close to Spectral for quality and minimal closed styling.

There are some more details and photos on my thread which my be of interest:
Any high end alternatives to Spectral av-furniture?

If you have any further questions that you would like to ask a recent Spectral purchaser please don't hesitate to drop me a PM.

James
