Cantilever LCD TV arm with soundbar "attachment" ? Any ideas ?

Hello,

I'm going to mount a 40" Sony LCD on a cantilever arm to keep it out of the way in an alcove when it's not being watched. This one is favourite at the moment: Cantilever Wall Support Bracket - Up to 50" | TV Wall Brackets | TV Wall Mounts

I'd also like to get a soundbar, either a Yamaha YSP-30D or the Denon DHT-FS3. These are around 800mm long x 150 high x 150 deep and weigh <10Kg.

The soundbars have wall mounting brackets but if I mount direct to the wall it would be in the alcove and I'd lose the surround effect.

So, I'm looking for a way to have it on a cantilever bracket so I can swing out with the TV. Ideally it would hang from the same bracket as the TV but alternatively I could mount on a separate cantilever arm.

I've found an arm from Omnimount that has an optional centre speaker bracket which looks perfect. But it's only for their high end brackets... too expensive for my pocket.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind making something up from sheet metal to attach to the TV bracket but I'm not sure if there will be any suitable mounting holes on the bracket / TV (though I'm sure I could make holes in the soundbar wall mount to attach the bracket to).

Cheers,
Al

There are already some arms designed to do this Have a look at FUSION&#8482 FCC100&#8482 Center Channel Speaker Adapter depends if your choices of sound bar has appropriate fixings....

you could try this,
Q-AV System
Used a few in installs, but try to get a listen to see if it would work for you, and check if the bracket is what you are looking for.....

Bodgit - thanks for heads up on the Q-AV. I like the look of it but part of the cantilever idea is to please the other half wants things neat. That means the media centre gets hidden and I don't have space for an amp. Hence the soundbars that have the built in amps etc.

hornydragen - cheers, I'd not seen that before. I'm sure the soundbar wall mount can be made to have the correct hole positions with a drill! Do you know where that can be purchased in the UK? Also, from what I can find on the web the cantilever arms look pricey - £500+... I only really want to spend £100.
Champagne mind, ginger beer budget??

I know who the distributor is LMK the part numbers and i will cheack p[rices when i get 5 min also worth having a at to some of the other bracket makers to see if they do something similar (Try ringing RS100 and ask for Roddy they make some OK and very cheap cantilevers and may be able to ad a soundbar mount)

I spoke to Roddy at RS-100 and bought one of his cantilever arms with the view to making my own bracket. It sounds like the arm has plenty of mounting holes...

I'll put a post up if it's successful!

Now I just need to buy the soundbar... classifieds here I come!
