stereo amp and cable advice for a novice.

Hi,

I'm new to all this so please go easy on me. I currently have a CA 540r v1, which I run my tv, freeview box and my computer through, with Wharfedale 9.1's at the other end. I know this is against all audiophiles but I've pretty much switched to using my computer to play my music through my amp as it suits my current situation a lot better at the moment. I run it from the S/PDIF Coax on the motherboard to the CD Coax on the 540r.

My 540r has pretty much died on me so I am after a new amp. A stereo amp is much better for my current setup I think (correct me if I'm wrong). I do not see the need for an av reciever anytime soon as I can still hook my freeview box to the stereo amp for the digital radio.

That being said, I don't think that stereo amps come with SPDIF? I want to know what the best method of getting good quality audio from computer to my Wharfedales is. How much difference in quality there will be between listening to music via the S/PDIF coax that I'm used to, and a 3.5mm to RCA Phono, or is there a better option? If anyone can recommend an amp within £150-£200 I would be grateful too, I was thinking of something like a NAD 325BEE.

Thanks for your time.
