synchronising onkyo 606 with samsung series 8

hi i have got a onkyo 606 amp and a samsung series 8 52" tv when i first set everything up, if i turned my tv off my amp would automatically turn itself off and it would do the same when i turned it on, then i had to reset the amp for some reason. i cant get the two of them synchronized now, i forgot how i did it, the main reason i want this is so when my family want to watch tv they dont have to mess about with hthe amp, can anyone help it would be much appreciated, thanx

My 606 is used with Sky HD and a Panasonic plasma, Hardware Setup->HDMI:
Control Enable
Power Conrol Enable
TV Control Disable

i just did it it worked but i had to leave tv control enable on because i wanted to turn the amp off when the tv is turned off from its own remote not the other other way around, thank you very much for your help
