System Setup

Hopefully i can make sense of this.

Computer is in a cupboard with a digital sound card,

In the room next door is a projector on a shelf which runs via VGA cable from the computer.

Am going to buy a projector screen, the projector (Sony XPL-X1000 i believe) is going to be around 2-3metres from the screen, how big of a screen will this give me so i know what size screen to get?

I want to be able to switch between playing sound in my cupboard when playing games on my computer to playing sound in the room where the projector is.

What's the best way of doing this?

Will i need an AV Reciever?

Andy

Re: System Setup

I'm not familiar with projectors, so can't answer your screen size question.

Regarding your sound though, what speakers do you have at each end (i.e is it a set of desktop speakers in the cupboard and standalone ones for the projector), or do you have any speakers yet? I imagine some sort of switcher would work & keep things simple, as opposed to forking out for a separate amp.

Re: System Setup

I'd be looking at Digital Logitech Z5500's for the computer and something similar for the room.

So it will be a digital coax from each.
