Denon AVR-3808 Apple Airport Express Setup

Hi All,

I am looking at connecting an Apple AirPort Express to my AVR-3808 to play Music over an optical cable.

However, when I connect this up to one of the optical ports I cannot get the audio to come through, is there anything that you suggest to help me with this one?

I have tried for the past hour now and still no joy.

Can anyone help?

Have you proven the output of the AE, or the input of the Denon using known working input/outputs?

I think today I will buy a new Optical Audio cable and see if that works.

I know the output from the AE is working as I plugged in headphones and the music was playing.

I think it could just be that I have a dodgy Optical Audio cable as all the other inputs I assigned on the 3808 all work perfectly and to have 4 dodgy Optical Audio Inputs on the AVR would be highly unlikely.

Headphones only prove the headphone out works. Swapping the cable is the next logical step though. Keep us informed.
