AV Receiver: what is a good budget receiver that is cheaper than Denon AVR-1507?

Any recommendations for a good quality budget AV receiver than I can get (new or used) for cheaper than the £200 that a used Denon AVR-1507 seeems to go for?

I want to replace the 7 year old Sony STR-DE475 I have. It is still operating okay, but never was thrillng. I need a unit to put in my study, so am thinking to use it there as a stereo unit and get another AV reciever. But would like to do this for a lower price than £200.....

You could look at the Pioneer VSX-916 at hifisupplies for £180 delivered. Has a very good spec too although some have raised a slight concern about its power handling claims. To be honest I reckon for the majority of people it wouldn't be an issue unless they were told about it.

New Denon AVR1507's can be had from Richer Sounds for 180 quid, as advertised in What Hifi...picked one up this weekend.

The Yamaha RX-V359 is the same price there as well.....

Absolutely no idea, but it would have to be until it is advertised at a different price in the May Issue I would have thought.

I actually changed my mind from the Denon 1356 kit and went for the 1507 amp along with the tannoy speakers from Richer sounds, quoted the ad in the mag today and got the amp for 179 and the speakers for 150.

Speakers are Tannoy FX 5.1, this i believe is the previous model to the current EFX 5.1 the dif being the EFX has a better central speaker but obvioulsy is more expensive. Most views i have seen still put the FX range as a good speaker package.
