Alternatively if you try to buy the 671 it will come up with a message saying it is out of stock but there will also be a link to the 673 offer.
Thanks, I just got a message from creative-audio saying they have no stock of the 671 and just to use the 671 link to purchase. All I had to do was click buy on the link they sent me! Thanks again.

If you go to the creative audio website and try to buy the 671 you get sent to the audio express website (the online sales for creative audio)and a page saying they no longer have any 671 in stock but there's a link to take to a new offer which is the rx-v673 for £339, free delivery but £15 if you live in Northern ireland.

When I turn on the Yamaha RX-V673 receiver using its remote control my Echostar HDS-600RS Freesat receiver stops responding to the remote and I have to do a factory reset to get it back.

got mine yesterday is awesome!!!!!!!!! there is no comparison between this and my old sony stereo amp. Compressed Music Enhancer works fantastic and listening music from my computer is dead easy.
I`ve only one problem with HDMI out from my computer. For some reason my ATI 6450 is having troubles passing signal to amp - no connection. need to try differen dvd player or BD but its defo the ATI.

looks like the amp and my htpc sorted out the connection by itself and everything now working fine.
Chuffed to bits! ;D

I got mine on monday from Richersounds but it's still in its box, I don't think my wife is going to be too impressed at the size of it! Mind that'll not be the first time lol!

I got mine yesterday. Great price from Creative audio.

Very impressed by service from Creative audio. They also supplied a very comprehensive quickstart written guide.

Still learning how to set up the various settings etc.

So far quite impressed by the Yamaha.

got mine set up now and its sounding really good.
I've also just bought a sub, a Wharfedale Diamond SW150, this is my first sub and having not had one before I'm not to sure on the best way to connect it to the 673.

Its a 7.2 system but I'm only going to have the one sub
do I use the left or right connection on the 673 and which one do I connect to on the sub.

I have bx2 bookshelf speakers for my fronts and hope to get a sub and centre soon, so I have the bx2s bi amped which improves the sound greatly. However when I tried to set up two other speakers for Zone 2 I found that I couldn't use bi amp for the main zone. Has anybody any ideas as to how best to set up my 673 with just two bookshelf speakers for the main zone and two for zone 2? In the manual setup I have only 3 choices and bi amp doesn't seem to allow zone 2.

On the bottom right of the back panel there are two outputs (one above the other) marked Sub-woofer, use the one marked '1'.

Banana Plugs

Received my Yamaha RX-V673 on Saturday (although didn't get a chance to set up until yesterday) and I have to say so far I am impressed with both the amp and speakers (Q Acoustics 2000i Cinema)

I was just wondering if anyone had used banana plugs to connect to the receiver as it looks as though these have been covered for European territories?

If so how easy was it and what was the easiest way of doing it? This is my first "true" home cinema setup so am learning as I go

same here new to all these stuff but setting up banana plugs was pretty straight foward. i bougght 24 from amazon for a tenner.

installation was straight forward although i didnt insert the wire through the rear end of the banan plug but rather screwed in the middle as they kept coming out of place.

theres no real advantage in terms of performance but cuz i keep plugging/unplugging my speakerz, theyr well handy.

Cheers for the pic mate - awesome

What did you find was the best way to remove the covers so you could fit the banana plugs? Thinking of connecting this way for, as you say, ease of connection!

I got some Fisual Easy Fix Banana Plugs for speakers and they are really good. Sturdy construction and 2 retaining screws to keep the cable secure. Think they were £5 for 4 - would highly recommend them.

Mine came debunged (without the covers that fill the hole in the centre of the speaker binding post).

I've found in the past that the easiest way to remove the plugs is to use a small screw. Gently twist the screw until it just grips the plastic centre of the plug and pull it out.

Ordered mine from Audio Visual Online so still came with the bungs. Managed to have a quick blast at taking one out before I left for work this morning and all went well and managed to fit a banana plug ... off to order some more banana plugs though so I can replace them all - thanks everyone for the assistance

I have the RX-V373. I am experiencing a problem when doing a volume up/down while receiving a Standard Definition signal, the video feed will cut out for 2 to 3 seconds. This does not happen on any HD content (from my set top box, or PC).

Any ideas?

Are people going or the black version or the titanium version. I'm about to buy this amp and wondering what people are doing. The titanium one looks nice, but is it trying to be too Arcam? Decisions, decisions...

Just wondering if anyone knows the remote codes that enable the XBOX 360 and Sky+ HD boxes to be controlled by the RX-V673 remote?

Have tried the ones for Microsoft, XBOX and Amstrad in the Remote Codes document but none of them seem to work?

Cheers in advance

(BTW now have banana plugs on receiver end as per my post above so thanks for pics/vids)

Would anyone not recommend that I get one of these tomorrow at the frankly bargainous price of £350?

(Replacing an old Pioneer AX3 by the way)
