Onkyo 515 No output after firmware update

I decided to update to the latest firmware today to stop the amp bugging me with the message every day. I left it to do its stuff and it went into standby presumably after the update had completed.

After turning the amp back on Im not getting any picture or sound, the hdmi seems not to be switching. Ive tried different cables.

The front of the amp says there is a firmware update ready for downloading after a couple of mins but when I try to update again the front panel gives an Error! 5-82 message.

Im beginning to lose the will to live. Any suggestions?

Yeah, Ive now read up on a few threads all about similar problems. It seems that if you have this or the 616 amp its a lottery whether you are going to have issues with no display on hdmi or bricked units from ropey firmware updates.

Pretty disappointed and it seems Onkyo arent any closer to solving these problems which seem to have been around for months. On this basis I would advise anyone to stay well clear.
