It's set to bottom. It works on the sky but nothing is shown on my htpc I think it might be a resolution problem

I ve done a factory reset of time capsule router and still with the same problem. I use ps3 wired and appleTV wirelessly.
So today i bought a linksys router, and connected the Denon and the time capsule to it. Now the linksys manages the DHCP and i ll have to open all ports i had before on the new router. Just a bit of work but not a big problem.

Everything is working now, but i advice anyone can have trouble connecting time capsule to Denon AVR 1912. I did.

Thanks guys

You have set this while on the HTPC right? As it remembers settings per source.

Hi chaps, problem with my amp. On blu-ray playback I often get a loss of video and sound signals all together for around 20 seconds then it'll come back and do it again a bit later. Originally I thought it was my blu-ray player so spent £200 on a new one, but it still done it. Then thought it was my tv have sent it away for repair today only to find the same problem with the replacement tv. It's so frustrating as its a great amp. Any suggestions here or does it just sound like the hdmi board is dying on me? I run my ps3 through it and it works ok not that I've noticed any problems anyway.

Have you tried these steps

Try a different HDMI lead
Try the Bluray in the HDMI input you have you PS3

Should help to eliminate a couple of things to start with

Different HDMI's yep even got new, trying the hdmi port that I use for ps3 and immediately putting the cable in feels more of a snug fit than it does for the blu-ray socket if that makes sense. It's a waiting game though as it'll either lose picture & audio 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 50 minutes in or occasionally not at all.

Ps3 DD and DTS issue

Hi guysI'm having the age old problems of only getting strereo sound out of my amp which connected via hdmi to my ps3 .
I'm not talking watching a film I'm talking playing a game can see let me know the exact set up they on their ps3 and amp. Most people say change it to bitstream not linear I've done that but that's only on the video playback settings not the audio settings....

Can you get Internet radio?

If not go to the Denon website download the firmware and upgrade via USB.

I would recommend this way as the chance of bricking you unit is less

connecting pc to the 1912

hi i have been trying to connect my pc to my denon 1912 but have had nothing but problems, it is connected with a HDMI cable using a AMD Radeon HD 6700 graphics card. when the pc is first turned on it shows on my HD ready tv all the booting up process and then just before it gets to log in screen its all blank and nothing is displayed there after. thje computer works fine if connected to the tv so i know its not a issue with the pc itself and also other HD imput sources work on the reciever like my PS3 and tv media. i am guessing is is to do with resolution issue i can only get 60htz if using 1280x720 and only 30htz if using 1920x1080 or down to the 1280x720 setting.

Wait, so it shows the screen when booting but not in windows is that correct? This is normal, just right click the desktop on your monitor and then click Screen Resolution. Nest you just choose how you would like your monitors to be displayed by clicking the Multiple Displays drop-down box.

Thats correct but the computer is connected directly to the av receiver so only one moniter on display settings is needed (one out HDMI from pc).

hi all,

Im considering to buy a clearance Denon 1912, very good price £250 (i think), but the catch is, it doesn't have a remote control or the setup mic. Im going to try and haggle to lower the price, but if they wont budge, do you think the price is worth it? Also do you know where I can find the remote control and the setup mic?

Thank you.

The Remote is £56 from here
DENON RC-1156 Remote Control (Original)

Or you can use the Deremote app on an iOS device and it does everything on the amp for under £6

The setup mic is about $40 for an original from Ebay. I am sure you can get a non Denon one for under £10 but not sure how good they are.

I got mine from Richer Sounds for that price and it is well worth it. Not sure where you are looking to get yours from as there website does not show any in stock but it might be worth seeing if any other branches have one. They will not deliver but you maybe able to arrange for a collection (At your expense) I know a couple of weeks ago the Chester Branch had one.

I'd also consider a harmony remote should be able to prog it for 1912. However I'd see if you could get a discount as they were selling for that price not long ago with all the bits and bobs. Hth

Thx for all the suggestions and tips, and sorry for the late reply.

All RS clearance Denon 1912's in London are sold out/damaged beyond repair and one only had the receiver and no mic/remote. For those from other part of the UK who are interested, this is the link.
Atomic Flang, thx a lot for suggesting Hyperfi, I called them up and they said there should be one available next week. I guess its better to pay the extra £10 than to just get the receiver for £250. I guess that depends on how reliable they are as I have never heard of them before, however according to them, the denon comes with all the accessories and has 1 year warranty. Atomic, What has been your experience with them, and has anyone else dealt with them before?

Hi 3DV.

I have never used them personally i just found there site saying the have some 1912's in. If you google Hyperfi problems there are some good and bad reviews but some people have said they say something is in stock even when it is not.

Probably best just check 100% they have it in.

Thx, will do that. I was more concerned about the condition and being misinformed about the condition, cause that will be a hassle, to get home and find something is wrong with it.

I still can't get any video to display from my AV receiver. It has been sent for repairs by Richer Sounds and they couldn't find a fault. I really need some help on this.

Sounds like user error I'm afraid mate, I suggest you download the user manual to your TV and the Denon and read through them carefully.

Try taking leaving the HDMI lead in the tv and disconnect it from the 1912 and put it direct to you virgin box does it work?

If it does the the tv is set to the correct input and the HDMI lead is good.

Now plug the HDMI back into the monitor port on the back of the 1912. ( it's labeled monitor and has a white background). Does it work now?

If you press the menu button on the amp remote can you see the menu?

Just tried that Atomic flange and no luck. HDMI doesn't plug into monitor it's video aux. I can't see anything displayed on the TV coming from the AV receiver. I'm thinking of just getting a refund from Richer Sounds (they've already said that's an option) but the models they currently have around the same price aren't a patch on the 1912.

The only way you can connect the 1912 to your TV is via HDMI.

If you have a look at the picture below from the manual I have highlighted the correct output from your 1912 (Red Box) and that has to connect to your HDMI input on your TV

Not sure where you have the Video Aux or what you are trying to do with it?

Yeah, I know that I have to have a HDMI going from HDMI out to the TV. I thought you meant the connection labelled monitor out, which is a yellow component connection. Anyhow it's still not working!

Hi Webby07, Did you find any solution to this problem.i am having same issue. Interestingly, it just started for me. I can play blue ray discs, but other video signals from my blueray player like setup menu screen, Netflix etc. keep phasing in and out.
