Question

Hi there. My name is Cris and i am from Greece. I am a happy owner of the SC LX75 for about a month now.
I have it bi amped with my B&W 603 S3 and the result is very good.
In the past 5 days a problem (if that is a problem) has shown up.
When listening to a cd or tuner (normal not internet one) when i close it by the remote sometimes it closes only the sound but the screen remains on , sometimes it does not respond at all.
When this happens i press the power on the unit for about 3-5 sec and then the unit closes. After that when i turn it on everything is normal.
Why this happens sometimes?
Another question is that if that unit has fans or it is just a passive cooling unit? because after 2 hours it is warm enough.
I am waiting your answers.
I enclose 2 photos to see where i have put it in the rack:

Hi there. Today by looking at the left side of my SC LX75 I can confirm that HAS a built in fan. It does not work from the time you start the Amp but when it needs to. I think.......
I enclose a photo to see it.
Pioneer SCLX75 & SCLX85 Owner's Thread-image-3342929720.jpg

Now as for the problem that I have , it did it today again after listening to radio for about 5 minutes I turned the amp off , it closed but the advanced mccac light & the light in the center of the screen stayed on. Not flashing, permanently I mean. After that I pressed the power on the amp continuously for about 5-10 seconds and then closed. After that I turned the amp on and all seemed fine. What is that issue above?
Please help.

Mine does it occasionally too (go back a few pages I asked the same q')

Try unplugging you tv (hdmi) and see if it cures it. I think it is the ARC connectivity as when I select the TV to switch off the amp I get no lights remain. More importantly when the lights are on you cant switch the amp on without holding the power button for 5 sec BUT if you select amp on via the TV menu (on samsung you press tools - ANYNET - AMP - ON) then it switches back on fine without touching the power button.

Also got a lx75 a month and a half ago. Mine worked fine until last sunday, when I turned
it on I got no sound or picture from any HDMI source. Tried to switch it off and got the same lights on you are describing.
The Amp is now at the repair shop.

Good morning. It is a Shame such expensive amps to have these problems. My problem Is a bit different from yours. Mine is working perfect....for the moment and I have only the lights issue when sometimes I turn it off. Apart from that inform us what the service will tell you. Thanks & don't worry.

Does anyone know how to get the black plastic parts out of the effect speaker terminals?

Look in this pic, I want to use banana plugs but the plastic part is restricting the opening. You can see that the centre channel banana plug port is clear.

If they are the typical plastic blanking plugs you can (carefully) lever them out with a suitably sized screwdriver, or twist a suitable sized screw into them then pull them out.

Hi. According to the manual I think is the power supply unit. Don't worry. That's why the warranty is for.
Let us know.

Or you can make a small hook from a paperclip, stick it in and when you pull it, the plug will come out.

Hi there.One question please:
Yesterday aftre 2 months of having my LX75 and after many attempts to adjust the Amp on my own via MCAAC , bad (in my opinion) results came to the surface.
So i called a friend of mine that is an ISF Expert calibrator (the one who had calibrated my Kuro) and adjusted the Amp with great success. Now i like the sound. What i noticed and i want to ask is that apart from that my speakers are Large (603 s3) the MCAAC made them small.Another thing is that the Xover is at 50hz.I don't know why he put it there , but after reading closely the manual it says that when the MCAAC procedure is done the xover adjust doesn't matter. The MCAAC has done all the settings?
Right?
I also want to ask:Can't i stream from PC music files and play them via my LX75?
I do this via my media player but i think it would be better direct from my amp.
I have a Win7 Home Premium PC
A friend told me that i must have a server not direct from my Pc.Is he right?

You can stream from the PC. Connect both to your router and the amp should pick up an I.P. and I believe will see your PC. Sure someone who has done it can better explain but you can definitely do it.

Hi, I don't know exactly in windows 7, but in Vista I only had to give permission and allow lx75 to connect.

When the amp tries to connect, you have to go to your pc and allow the amp.

I hope this helps...

I'll try with my low level of English...

With your pc on, you have to select in the receiver HMG, then media server and select your pc.

Now in the pc (quick because the pop up disapears in a few seconds) you have to see a message telling you something like: Pioneer LX75 is trying to connect, allow it? You click yes... And it should work.

Hope this helps.

I don't think there must be a specific one. They all do the same. Put in the Hdmi2

Hi there.Everything worked fine, i disabled the Eset firewall in my PC and the LX75 saw it and everything works fine!!!

By the way is the new LX76 better than the LX75 or is it just a NEW model?
I say this because they have a 500 Euros difference in their prices.Except for the support for 4K resolution in the fuuuuuuture what else?
You see i bought my LX 75 in August for 1300 Euros and i wonder was a right move or should i have taken the LX76?
Thanks!!!

whats the warranty length (in UK) for the Pioneer 75/85? I know when I bought a Pioneer in the past it was a bit confusing to whether it was 1 year or 2 years

I note competitors are still over a year ? Denon I think 2 years ? Anthem 3 years ?
