Return the item. The retailer should replace it and Monitor Audio are pretty good in terms of their customer care in regards to such matters. AS long as you've not caused the damage then you are perfectly entitled to a replacement.

I have the app and it works fine. My Equipment: Cabletuner(sagem) on hdmi1, Mediaplayer(eva9100) on Hdmi2, BR(BD-570) on Hdmi3, Satellitetuner on av6 and tv only output (lg 60inch plasma) and Network with Nas.
Scene1 gives Cabletuner(don't no why) scene2,3 does nothing. 4=radio.
Well how can I configure this, now i use 5,7 for mediaplayer and dvd player.
Napster is dead can it be removed?
I use also a 4toall remotecontrol with powerswitch very handy everything on/off

If you want to reconfigure the default preconfigured scenes to something else, simply hold down the scene button you want to reconfigure while watching/using the amp as you'd want that scene to be defined. Hold the button down until the display indicates the new settings have been saved to that scene.

Like dante01 said to use the scene buttons the way you want simply turn on your equipment , say you want to watch TV using scene 1 , set up your stuff like your watching tv then just hold down scene 1 for a few seconds and it will tell you it's now configured.
Then say you turn off all your equipment simply press scene 1 and it will turn on everything just like you programmed it for watching TV.
The manual is very clear with scene buttons and how to use them.

Is there an advanced reset option on a RX-A2010?
The receiver switched 3 times off, because no speaker were installed...
Now there is no function anymore, only standby, like the manual says.
SoftReset (press ON for 10sec) is possible, but AVR stays in standby.
Advanced setup Menue (ON and straight) is not working...

Got it from Yamaha repair Center:

Press "Info" and "Tone/Balance" the same time and then switch on.
An Info appears like "no protect" or "i-protect" for 2 seconds.
Then there is a Menue for scrolling with zone 1/2.

My case: change preset INH to RSRV by using zone 3/4 and switch off.
Switch on, works perfect.

Thanks for the reply ... to be more specific it cuts out when the volume is 'somewhat' high. I must be clear that it is not nearly at max volume. When I turn the volume down this problem does go away.
This problem exists when playing both CD's and iPod. There is a 9 channel stereo setting if this helps.
When turning the unit back on after it cuts out the error message "check speaker wires' does show ... but the message immediately goes away and the unit begins to work normally.
Is there anything else I can clarify to help with this troubleshooting problem.

I take it you've double-checked all the wiring and have allowed ample space around the reciever for air circulation? It sounds like it may be tripping the protection circuit due to overheating, have you felt how hot it is once it cuts out?

The unit is in a cabinet ... I know not advisable ... but does have doors open when running and venting ... but no fan as of yet. I am going to watch the heat when it does cut out ... I have a RX-A3010 and would like to stream music from my MacBook Pro and possibly a Mac Mini. Most of my music is in Apple Lossless (ALAC) format, some in AAC and very little in MP3.

Apple products are not DLNA compliant, so I have downloaded two front-end DLNA server softwares, (TVMobili & Elgato EyeConnect) which both work very well with the AAC/MP3 files, but not ALAC - EyeConnect just says cannot play file and TVMobili has a go at transcoding to WAV I think, but I get white noice being played, not music.

Does anyone know of any software, free or paid for, that will run on MAC OSX and successfully transcode ALAC files to another format that the Yamaha amp will play?

Any help would be appreciated.

For some reason since yesterday I only get the black bar displaying on the TV - the actual volume level number and the vertical lines are not showing I have established that it doesn't seem to matter which AV input is selected - I have 2 satellite receivers, Xbox360 and PS3 all connected via HDMI and HDMi 1 out to the TV. All fine until yesterday.

Ideas anyone?

Sorry never experienced that before, have you tried a factory reset?
After that if it still happens I think you have a defective unit.

factory reset did the trick. I also restored the system backup I had made earlier - still all as usual

Do these 3010 get hotter or just the same as a Yamaha 3900 as I own one one these and it's been placed in a alphason stand cabinet and it's been fine.

I was hoping the 3010 was going to be much cooler at running and produce less heat than the 3900.

Any IOS or Android device will do the trick, so you just want the cheapest. If you want to stream directly from the phone then you'll need some storage on board.

Look on Ebay for any cheap Samsung/HTC for Android or Iphone/Pod Touch.

Just as a guide there are loads of Galaxy Ace's on there for just over £100, I'm sure there are cheaper solutions as well. Incidentally the Yamaha AV Controller App is very good so worth getting something to use it.

A2010 Hai again I just don't understand the filosophy of the Yamaha designers. I have a simple problem, I connect a media[player to hdmi6. Now I want to listen to the music on the mediaplayer. I can never find with buttons to use to hear the music.
Before I had a AV-rx767 where you only have to select hdmi6 on the inputsourcebutton.

First post here, so please be gentle with me, lol. The 1010 doesn't have AirPlay, but is there another way I can stream to it via wifi ( apart from buying AirPlay separately) from an iPhone? At the moment I have an Arcam avr250, an I'm hoping the yammy can match the sound.
