As the MRX300 has not started shipping yet you will not find any reviews of it.
I dare say you will most likely see a few of the MRX500 or MRX700 over the coming months and I believe that the Home Theater Magazine in the States published a review of the MRX 700. Here is a summary of some of the points made:
- Excellent with digital audio ;
- A.R.C. very effective ;
- Video scaling good but not excellent ;
- Passed all digital tests in the "video bench" except digital chroma resolution was "borderline" because of some high frequency roll-off ;
- Struggled a little bit with the analog video cross conversion tests ( component in & HDMI out ) : failed the analog video clipping test , was "borderline" with the analog video luma resolution test , failed the analog video chroma resolution test ;
- Was not tested with an analog audio source.
Here are some quotes from the conclusion paragraph :
" The Anthem MRX 700 is a great sounding AVR but not one of the Swiss army knife variety. "
" It owes its excellent sound to both the high quality amplification section and proprietary room correction,which can overcome some limitations in your room and to a much lesser degree,your speakers. "
" It comes down to your priorities.If they begin and end with first-rate sound,you should visit your Anthem dealer."
