Page 21 of the Pana DMP BD30 manual fella....

You will probably need to turn BD-Video Secondary Audio to OFF within the Digital Audio Output Settings....

Just out of curiosity... If you select LPCM output via HDMI on the BD30 does the amp display Multi-Channel with the Blue light illuminated on the front when playing HD audio?

LPCM lights up. You do not get an HD audio format indicator when streaming LPCM to the receiver. You don't get one with any receiver.

Ummmm... I know that dante Thank you..

I am asking them the question to these guys hoping they will repond with the answer.. 'Yes, the Blue Light is illuminated and LPCM displays on the front panel' or 'No it doesn't...'

Just trying to eliminate whether these guys have problems with their Blu-Ray players as apose to their amps....!!!

If they are Bitstream'ing thier HDMI audio with Secondary Audio turned off from their BD30's then their players seem to be having issues sending the lossless audio formats to the amp to decode, or the amps are not decoding the signal at it's end properly to illuminate the HD indicators.... (Do you know of any Bitstreamig settings on the SONY amps that might be restricting these signals dante..?)

Might be a good idea to see if you guys can take your players to a friends house who also has an A/V reciever (HDMI) with the HD codecs onboard to see if the problem still persists....

Process of elimination by the looks of things maybe!

Re: Sony DA 4300es and Panasonic DMP BD30 NO TrueHd Audio ..HELP !

Hi ukbladerunner, the blue light does light up when the player is set to LPCM, i'm going to try the firmware on the player and see if there are any updates which might help, when the player is set to bitstream and i've set the audio on the disc to True HD it only shows on the amp as Dolby Digital 3/2.1

Thanks for your help by the way!

If you have it set to PCM, you won't get HD audio to light, you need to set it to bitstream.

SEA - Using that BR disc,, since it only has two audio options,, does that mean you get no audio at all??

no i get audio, but only the dts light is coming on .
pressing the audio button on the bd60 remote shows dts hd or dolby true.
the onkyo does not appear to be decoding it....

Re: Sony DA 4300es and Panasonic DMP BD30 NO TrueHd Audio ..HELP !

update, just recieved a new bluray through the post, will smith legend, only one soundtrack, true dolby hd.
no luck, still cant get any of the lights up on the 507.
in fact am on my second 507 (thanks to the guys at richer sounds preston) and still the same.
down loaded latest firmware for the bd60, 1.9, turned off viera link, nada, zilch....no joy.
reading through the posts there was conflict between panasonic players and certain av receivers ?
bottom of the page my week old 507 has developed a problem with the transformer.
when it gets hot starts buzzing like a good un, bad enough to cause the top case to rattle.it can be heard from across the room.
the 507 is going back, to be exchanged for a sony or denon, if i can batter the other half into submission it,s the denon, £439 at r/sounds.
hopefully will have better luck with a different make...

Re: Sony DA 4300es and Panasonic DMP BD30 NO TrueHd Audio ..HELP !

I have a Panasonic DMP BD60 and a Onkyo 607 with the same problem. Using Bitstream but no TrueHD or DTS-HD and I have confirmed all the settings are correct numerous times. The Onkyo 607 continues to display Dolby Digital and DTS while in Bitstream and multichannel when I select PCM on the BD60. Just updated the firmware in the BD60 yesterday. I was beginning to think I was the only one until I saw this post.

Has anyone had any luck correcting the issue? I do not have another device that I can test Bitstream TrueHD or DTS-HD and there is nothing left for my to test on either the Onkyo or the BD60.

Thanks
Andre'

Re: Sony DA 4300es and Panasonic DMP BD30 NO TrueHd Audio ..HELP !

I spent 45 minutes on the phone to Panasonic, the A/V help line. with the help of Dominic (big thanks) i turned every thing off unplugged all hdmi leads and started again, while on the phone.
Settings on BD 60 confirmed as correct, Veira link off on tv and blu ray player, still no luck, lights on 507 still not lighting up.?
As i said in previous post my 507 developed a fault with the transformer and was changed for a Denon 1910.
Denon installed and still no HD lights coming on.
Saw the post on here that the Range were selling Sony BDP 350 for £109 + PP and bought one.
Set up and running in less than 10 mins and whooopee do da, little blue light on the Denon confirming HD audio.
The BD60 has been returned to Play.Com, they refunded on to my card this morning.
Still no wiser why the Onkyo or Denon would not display HD audio with bitstream output from the BD60
