STR-DA1200ES non existant bass grrr in 2 channel

it's my fault for not auditioning first but this amp has pathetic bass and i'm very dissapointed.

Am using a pair of Q Accoustic 1030 floorstanders which aren't exactly puny.

Anyone else experience this? My 6 year old Yamaha sounds better frankly, although the mid/treble from the Sony is better.

This is based on running coaxial from the cd player to the amp and setting to 2 channel mode. I have even had to use the tone controls which i really shouldnt need to but at +10 the bass is still very very weak.

help!

Wont have a chance to check my settings until tomorrow night but I have huge amount of base from this amp with base set I think at 4. speakers are mission floor standers m34i. Must be something not set 100%. Will check back on this thread tomorrow with settings unless somebody has already sorted for you by then

ok thanks as i'm at my wits end with this - I bought the floorstanders over bookshelf ones so i wouldn't need a subwoofer but it looks like i'm going to need one

I assume I have the speakers hooked up correctly - in mono wire mode I use the inner two connections yes??

did you manage to check your settings?? I'm wondering if the amp is faulty, I can't get the OSD to come up even though it's enabled in the menu and hdmi is routed via the amp, and the other thing is that there is only the option in the menu to change the balance of one of the front speakers and not the other?!
