Do I Need A Power Amp, Or Integrated ?

Not sure whether this goes in this forum, or the integrated, but here goes...

I have a Denon 1906 AV receiver currently, and want to give my fronts a bit more quality and oomph in mainly stereo mode, but also surround mode.

I would obviously be using the denon pre-out, and my speakers are NOT currently bi-wirable (though these may get relegated to sides, as I plan to get some new fronts in the future)

I want to control volume through the Denon ideally, I gather once i calibrate the volume level on the second stage, the Denon will adjust all levels accordingly ?

Do I want a power amp, or an integrated amp... i think i have confused myself

Thanks
