Bryston's replacment???

Hi everybody,
I got one bryston 6bsst up for sale, had been thinking what could be the suitable replacment of bryston, I am looking for smaller bryston but what is the other option then bryston, I know there are some guys here who have used similar speakers as mine but with different amps so their opinion is appreciated in advance. I never used any speakers more then say 4 months but I have been using M&K's(150's) for about year so yeah I am happy with M&K but probably will be getting a bit smaller or less demanding speakers as I am changing my more powerfull amp with less powerfull amp so what other option are out there if I change M&K's as well.
thanks.

Re: Bryston's replacment???

I guess you need to be thinking in terms of amps that will be at least the quality equivalent of your previous amps.

This would lead you in the direction of some obvious candidates such as Bryston again,as well as Krell,Classe,Boulder,Levinson and indeed most of the other high-end heavies.

At this sort of level there really is no alternative to borrowing an example of each and trying it in your own system,as the sonic character of say a Krell Vs a Levinson can be quite different, and may not suit what you want.

Personally I've found the sound of Levinsons to be a slightly "darker" presentation if that makes sense, compared to either Krell or Bryston, but the bass end of many of the Krells, new and old(with the exception of the KSA-S series) is quite something.

A very difficult choice.
