Best value for money??

I have a budget of approx £350 - £400 for an amp.

Was wondering am I better to go for a new one in this price range or is it worth looking at second hand models that were good (and expensive) in their day but are now going for prices within my budget.

My main use will be mostly for music (70%) with tv / dvd / ps2 (30%). I will be using B & W 601's.

Basically I need to know if the technology and price have improved over time as with most av equipment, are will you still get more advanced features on the older models?

Re: Best value for money??

As you've posted in the power amp section will you be using a pre-amp as well? Or an AV amp?
