Millenium 2.4.6 DTS Decoder Error

I have a Millenium 2.4.6 DTS decoder, that has been giving trusty service for 10yrs, hooked up to a Pioneer DV525 DVD player (8yrs) and a Pioneer CLD-D925 Laserdisc player (10yrs). All working beautifully.

The question/problem i have is as follows:

  • A friend lent me his Toshiba 360E DVD player to see what i thought, could not get a DTS signal out of it at all, the decoder would not lock onto the signal, regardless of the settings in the player.
  • I then picked up a Denon DV1720 last week for an install job elsewhere, and put it in my system to check functionality, by some coincidence i could not get a DTS signal out of that either.

I wonder if the later players have a different DTS signal from previous years?

Thanks

I binned mine a while ago as I could not get it to lock onto anything.

thanks Nic for reply, do you know if it was an issue with the decoder or newer players?

Re: Millenium 2.4.6 DTS Decoder Error

I could find nothing obviously wrong and put it down to old age. It certainly used to work with LD and DVDs and then didn't after a period of 'iffy' behaviour with the same material. It might be time to 'retire' an old friend I am afraid.
