Sound format

Hi all
No idea where to post this so..............
Which should sound better, 96kHz and 16bit, or 48kHz and 24bit? My sound card will only use one or the other through my HK5500 and its difficult to do a sound test.

Are you sure you didn't mean 16/48 and 24/96?
