Using both Front and Rear for Stereo

Hi,

does anyone know of a unit that can run both front and rear speakers together in stereo mode? I don't mean in pro-logic or in an 'effect' mode. It would be good to be able blast a CD out using say 4 amplifier channels and really get the place shaking!

Quite a few AV Amps/Receivers now have 5CH/7CH Stereo Modes. All they do is duplicate the Front Left and Right channels out of the Surround Left and Right and Surround Back Left & Right speakers. The centre channel gets a mono mix of the two.

but with A+B you are usually sometimes limited by the combined impedance of the speakers. I assume that using 4ohm speakers could result in a 2 ohm load

Also as I do not want to re-plug the speakers, using A+B wouln't I have to wire the speakers to both rear & B output terminals?

Yamaha does have DSP modes called 'Disco' and 'Party' that come close.
Ok, so it is an effect mode but at least you don't need to re-wire the speakers.

A simple mixer will do it, with one input (L&R) and two outputs, to 2 Amps.
