Welcome to AVForums
Unfortunately the converter you linked to in your post goes the wrong way for what you need. The one in the link converts an analogue audio signal (from the RCA inputs) into a Digital optical output. Otherwise know as an Analogue to Digital Converter.
What you need is a Digital to Analogue Converter or DAC for short. This will convert your digital optical signal from your TV into an analogue signal that your Bose system can use.
The main thing to bear in mind when buying a DAC is that it is the DAC which actually creates the analogue audio from a digital source (or in simple terms, what you actually hear).
So a cheap DAC will do the job just fine, but will not be very good in terms of sound quality and depth/clarity. An expensive DAC however with create a very high quality sound with lots of depth and clarity.
The cost of your speaker system and the sound quality you desire should determine how much you spend on a DAC. Though for general TV use, a nice cheap DAC should be ok. That said, if you watch lots of movies or listen to music channels through your TV, a higher quality DAC would be more appropriate.
Finally, you will need to decide whether to get a simple stereo DAC with just 2 channels or one capable of doing surround sound with 4 or more channels. Again this depends on your speaker system and whether your TV supports digital surround sound.
Hopefully the following page will shed a little more light on the subject.
