Resonance potentiometer warning in manual Rodec Sherman Restyler

Hi, I have a Restyler from Rodec / Sherman, and in the manual I read this message at the description of the knob 'Resonance Potentiometer'
ATTENTION: This oscillation can damage speaker systems or human hearing. So please be careful by using this control.

What for is this warning? why would they put it on the knob when it destroys stuff? or is this something like 'warning don't turn up too high, or you might kill your ears/speakers.
