Help please!

All,

I have a mixed tube amplifier that I want to keep to drive a 5.1 setup. I have seen posts around the DSP-E800 but I have multiple sources to contend with and will be adding a projector in the future.

Basically my inputs are:
Sky HD
Xbox
PC with Blu-ray player

Visual outputs LG 37 inch and probably an Infocus X9

Recommendation on DSP-E800 with an HDMI switcher or a cheap amp that will have two HDMI outs?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help please!

1) The Yamaha DSP-800 is not an HD processor, but you have a Bluray source. It also has no HDMI.
2) With 5.1, the 3 front speakers form a single consistent soundstage. If the speakers and amplification are not consistent, the soundstage is problematic. Assuming the unidentified tube amp was bought to achieve sound quality, a cheap A/V amp is likely to exacerbate consistency problems. I would therefore strongly recommend careful in-situ auditioning of the system - including the (anonymous) speakers.

IMHO, you should give more info on what you have and ask about your target, rather than about a specific device in a general context.
