what power amp?

after hearing my speakers seemingly 'come to life' musicaly while testing a much better av amplifier than my sony str-DA2400es iv now found myself wanting something a bit better myself

so iv decided to go down the route of a power amp for the front two or three channels rather than going out and buying a whole new av reciever. there are two main reasons why that is, the first one being i like the sony as it does everything i want it to, and to get another reciever with the same features but with a much better sound quality would cost me ££££, so a power amp it is

iv been looking at the Arcam fmj P25-3 which looks like it will be pretty good for my needs, and can be bought used for around £400 ish and would cover all three front channels.

but before i buy anything or make any final decisions if apreciate some advice as i know bugger all about these things, av recievers are as far as my knowledge goes... and even thats strectching it a bit so if there is anything else out there i should be looking at id apreciate a nod in the right direction.

my current fronts are acoustic energy neo 3's, with an Aelite on wall center speaker, although im looking to upgrade the neos to elite threes in the future

thanks in advance for any replies, looks like i will be introuble with swmbo as the upgrade bug looks like its about to strike again

cheers

andy
