I have recently bought a 32" Samsung LED tv. The picture is brilliant, but as with a lot of new tv's the sound is not so great, fine for tele, not for films etc. As a result I am going to hook up external speakers, i have plenty lying around, or i may get a bose companion 2. This has yet to be decided. My problem is that the optical out from the tele is no effected by the remote control, i'm not sure if this is the norm, but never the less, thats the way it is. Therefore i am wandering if anyone knows of products which will be able to control the volume,
using the samsung tv remote. Either an amp/reciever, or an in-line solution, similar to this,
The Punk Engineer: IR remote stereo volume control!, which i found - perfect, but there's no way i could construct such a thing.
I have a Standby Saver downstairs which has been programmed to respond to the TV remote's standby button, so i'm wandering whether this idea has been applied to other functions, ie volume control.
Apologies for the slight rambling, and if this has been covered on the forum elsewhere i apologise as i have missed it.
Any advice or suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks
James
