Smile Rotel RM-1572 - Experiences

I thought I would start a thread since I can't see one specifically about the Rotel and I now have one

Picked mine up, in black, from Audio T in Brentwood on Saturday and dropped it in to replace a pair of Chinese-man Audiolab 8000M's driving a week-old pair of Focal 826W's. It's too early to comment on sound quality especially as I am in the middle new room layout, speaker placement headaches and stuff but on the whole it does what it ways on the tin.

I exercised the system a little last night and as expected the Rotel didn't even get warm. Ambient temperature all the way.

One minor niggle, and this is very unlikely to be the amp is I lost my left channel a couple of times for 10-15 seconds, but I have a suspicion (and a hope) that it's the SB3 and the 7.4 upgrade I did to the Squeezecenter / firmware.

Re: Rotel RM-1572 - Experiences

I have the 5ch version the 1575 and it's a complete power house

I have had it now for around a month and it seems to have run-in nicely, last night I watched Kill Bill vol 1 on Bluray (PCM track), and it was just crying out to be turned up louder and louder, by the time I got to the crazy 88 scene I was running around -10db, as you move on outside in the snow for the final showdown the build up music (probably the best build up music ever in a movie) gave me goosebumps and was just screaming out to go louder so I upped it to -5db and sat there grinning and amazed at the detail I was hearing

I really like these amps
