View Full Version : Daredevil extended edition?
I remember someone posting a few months back that there was an extended version of Daredevil pending - a longer version/Director's cut a la LOTR, not just the Special Ed you can get now.
I promptly cancelled my order for the normal Daredevil & have been waiting for the longer version to appear (no big deal, can't say I'm gagging to watch it anyway). Can't find any references to the longer version now, does anyone know what became of it?
Was it just a rumour/has it gone where the dead fish go?

It's coming, just not as soon as we hoped.
Not only will it be extended, but will also have some scenes from the theatrical version cut out, so if they're not included as deleted scenes on the DVD, you might want to consider buying both (if you're that way inclined).

I heard (did not get the full tale) the other day that there will be an other showing of Daredevil in a film I think they said in his own that will lead on to an Electra film.
I checked with IMDB and they have the Electra film pencilled in but not an other Daredevil. So I wonder if DD is in the Electra one.

Spoiler:
They left it open whether she dies or not. He finds the necklace that she wore, done in brail, at the end of the film remember?

SPOILER They killed her of in the comics but they brought her back although I have been told it is ambiguous whether the stories are before or after her supposed death.
I also seem to remember that she was connected with mysticism.

According to cdjapan, there is an Ultimate Edition
due out on Oct. 3rd.
I couldn't tell you if it's only "Ultimate" because
it's a 2 disc set or if it's the extended version.
No doubt, more details on this will emerge in the next
week or so.
Here's a link to the product.....http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=FXBU-23789

I did notice at least 1 scene that was shown in the cinema that wasn't present on the DVD. After the fight with Electra in the playground a car pulls up and there are a few lines about them being her body guards before the change to the next scene.
Anyone know of any other cuts? Is it this type of thing we are expecting to see in this new edition or footage in addition to what was shown in the cinema?

I understood it was a longer version. Isn’t the latest SE versions 2 disc also?

There is a comparison on the disc Click here (http://www.dvdcompare.org.uk/comparisons/film_results_page.php?fid=3352) and it says 2 cut scenes were restored to the DVD that was not in the film

Garrett, I'm confused. What I'm saying is there is at least one scene shown in the cinema that is NOT on the DVD. Or were you not replying to me

That scene you talk about was NOT in the cinema version, but it was in the trailer. I think you may be getting mixed up with the trailer and the film. Hope that helps.:smashin:

Thanks Darth-Fisto for clearing that up.
I was answering you Daneel if you go to the comparisons it states for the Reg2 disc Note - This is the same as the original US theatrical version and restores the 2 scenes that Fox cut from the UK theatrical version.

Ok, I've only watched the film in the cinema and that one section of the DVD. So if what is on the Rewind site is true then there should be 2 scenes on the DVD that I have never seen, correct?
Darth_Fisto, you are probably right I cannot say for sure that I saw that scene in the cinema, all I know is I saw it and it isn't on the DVD!
Bleh, it's not a big deal, the film wasn't that great anyway. It was just that I liked that scene and was disapointed it wasn't on the DVD.
