Hi Ratty,

Unfortunately, the "value" of almost any DVD set/film is restricted to what people are actually willing to pay for it.

Your best bet, is to do a simple search on Ebay, and see what other people are getting for this title. However, if the tin is in immaculate condition, (it is the Region 1 edition you are referring to, isn't it?) and never been viewed or opened, then you would probably be able to get a fair amount for it... and at a reasonably realistic guess, if you sold it to the right person, could maybe get close to £100 for it. Having said this, this is only an approximate guess! It's not gospel, so don't be angry if you only get offers around the £50 mark.

Trouble is, there were a vast amount of these tins made, and loads of people bought them to collect, so the market is still pretty saturated. I was in New York a few weeks ago and was astonished to see the tins of Akira, Repo Man and The Beyond still on the shelves of some of the smaller shops.

In the second hand forums, here, they normally go from about £20 opened to about £30 sealed. But as Pooch said, on E-bay, the sky is really the limit. I would sit on it for a few months or longer, but the thing that really depreciates the value is the release of superior versions, so it's all a bit of a gamble really.*

* and a cash-in on behalf of the company that makes these tins.
