Hi all, has anyone seen this cabinet in the flesh? It looks quite impressive in the pictures on a.v.sales website. Does anyone know the price of it and the matching side cabinets or maybe a web address where the info. might be available?

It's by a company called Longbow (a cabinet maker based in Nottingham if I remember correctly)... The picture on AV-Sales site is of a friend of mines living room... He commissioned the cabinet from scratch and Longbow then used it as a template for what you see now... I don't know the retail price but the quality is as good as it gets..! The lift is motorised (very quiet) and it takes the screen right down to the floor keeping the unit low...
Thye 're good products when you can get them.
We have the prototype small projector table lift at work and it's pretty good. I cam recommend the automation controller that you can get with it, as it'll be me that helps you with it if you need any help.:grin:
Some of these cabinets are serious ££££
I believe this one (http://www.kubedesign.co.uk/kubic_kd3p.htm) is >£5000 and it is only veneer!!!
The Longbow (http://www.longbow-sp.co.uk/main%20frames%20page.htm?home%20cinema%20furniture ) sure does look nice however.

You have two options if you are considering a 'Plasma in a Cabinet' type installation.
Cabinet with lift installed - the Longbow units are certainly one of the most impressive I've come across.
Plasma Lift - you can purchase the mechanism on its own and then have a cabinet maker build something new around it or retro fit it to an existing piece of furniture.
A Longbow cabinet (inc lift) will cost you around £4k* and a stand alone Plasma Lift around £1.5k depending on size and operational features.

Thank you all for the replys chaps, 4k :eek: a bit rich for me considering I don't even have a plasma yet. I must admit though I'm slowly but surely swaying towards plasma screens from crt t.v.'s and projectors.I like the look of the pioneer 43" screen, very nice picture whenever I've seen it in action. The only other thing interesting at the moment is the new loewe dlp rear projection tv coming out soon but that is going to be about 6.5k :eek: I could get a plasma and have some change :rolleyes:

They have fantactic suff for making plasma's disappear, you can either have the complete cbinet or buy the bits and DIY.

Just make sure you go for 240v ones and not some 12v ones with a transformer as they can use a very high current i.e. 30A+ on 12v (trust me I blew a few fuses using them) 30A+ 12v is very expensive to get.
