Moving the dish

I'm intending to move my sky dish about a foot to the right. I'm assuming I don't need any special kit so long as I don't change the direction the dish points. Anyone know any different or done this before?

1st thing, have you got enough slack on the cable?
2nd the dish is supposedly aligned, when fitted, a foot either way may require realignment ( get someone to watch the signal strength bar when you move it).
Is the new position going to have any objects in the way?

Recent £1 install. Dish looks silly where it is in comparison to my existing terestrial aerial. Don't get me started on the cable run.

If you are talking about unbolting the dish's wall fixings ect then re-attaching further along the wall, then as previously mentioned, it will need realigning professionally with a sat finder meter or else you will have problems.

i agree, it needs to be correctly aligned or you will suffer pic drop out in bad weather, also you will have bullet holes where your bracket was. why didnt you ask the installer to put the dish where u wanted it.
