Do you think Phone Booth will be taken of the shelves after the new sniper attacks in the US? Afterall the Wasington attacks delayed the theatrical release, wouldn't a new set of attacks warrant a cease in sales?

I don't think so, if you think about most films, instances contained within them can be linked to everyday occurences (such as the car crash sequence in Final Destination 2) and therefore, if it were the case that out of decency, films were removed from the shelves when 'real life' events happen, then we would have hardly any films out to watch!

I suppose. Good point.

...and isn't that a corker!! Amazing stunt sequences to produce that. I wonder how much was CGI? Sorry to take off topic

Why is it so short?

1 hour 17 mins is more akin to a Disney animated feature than a live action Hollywood film.

This put me off purchasing it.

Is that the Phone Booth duration? If it is you really dont notice it being that short, i really enjoyed it very tense

Yes Phone Booth.

I thought and an hour and a quarter is pretty short by today's standards.

It's short because it doesn't need to be long. Why stretch something just so it is of typical length?

Anyway, you want quality rather than quanitity don't you? I find it strange that the length would put you off buying it. It's a great film.

Oh, I don't think it will be pulled from the shelves.

Hi,

I guess "Phone Booth" may get taken off shelves, in the UK, if the new sniper attacks become more frequent or more ferocious. However, I pray that doesn't happen.

As for the length, or lack-of-it, it's because the film was written about 10 years ago by Larry Cohen, cult B-movie director of "Q: The Winged Serpent". As such, it wasn't ever meant to be anything special. Just a nice, short, neat little action film, starring some hokey B-movie stars. It wasn't really intended to include A-list actors or directors.

I agree, and the length is just right. Any longer and it may not have been as tense.

thought it was a great little film, length was about right. as for taking it off the shelves - i dont see that it needs to be.

I was listening to Radio 5 this morning and they said that the FBI agents that dealt with the washington sniper last year had been called in - i thought that was really funny as they only found him by accident - not through good police work :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

also agree, any longer and it would have struggled.

if you liked Phone Booth I'd recommend a rent of Liberty Stands Still . A mate recommended it when Phone Booth came out and I enjoyed almost as much..definately worth a rent of not a purchase. Reg 2 can be had from Blockbusters for around £7.99 :)

blue_harvester - might be worth editiing your subject to include a ? mark, as it looks like you are making a statement of fact rather than asking a question....
