Which headphones?

Sorry, I couldn't think where else to put this thread.

I'm looking at a pair of cans, below the £100 mark.

Richer sounds have sold out of the Sennheiser HD575's (I can only buy them online, being in Rome right now) and I can't find anywhere else that sells them.

This has got me thinking, do I really want a pair of Sennheisers? I've seen the Grado SR60's and '80's and I'm wondering what the difference between the three sets of headphones is? I can order the grado's online which is an added bonus, but not the be all and end all, as I can get back to England eventually (I just want them NOW dammit! :D).

Anyway, which cans would you recommend? I listen to mostly rock and electronica, and they would quite probably be used for movie use... bass is an issue here I suppose. I would be using them in conjunction with my sony str-de475 amp and XE570 CD player and also my net MD on the move, providing they don't leak too much noise, not that I care about that too much

Sennheiser HD580, £80 from Harrow Audio, and damn good value at the price. (Although you might need a headphone amp to get the best out of them).

I have the Grado SR80's and would highly recommend them. Very comfortable and nicely detailed for a great price.

How much would a decent headphone amp cost? And what would you recommend?

EDIT: Harrow Audio seem to be charging £100 for the '580's :/

There have been several threads on the subject of headphone amps before. For example: this one.

If you scroll down to my first post in that thread (it's the fith post, I think) that will point you to two other, earlier threads.

As far as Harrow Audio's price is concerned, I got that from the Uk Price Guide website (click here). They say the source is What Hifi? magazine - you might grab an issue in WH Smith's and check to see if they're listed at that price in an advert.

Even if the Price Guide people just made it up, £100 is still quite a good price for 580s.

Cheers for the link to the headphone amp threads I think that if I end up listening to my headphones a lot I'll invest in one, as it'd be a logical step forwards.
