Right folks ive got blueyonder broadband, from my cable modem it goes to a linksys router. From this linksys router it goes to the 2 pc's i have.

Now i have a laptop and yesterday i bought a belkin wireless access point and a wireless card for the laptop. I plugged the access point into the router and the card into the laptop but for some reason it doesnt work.

It says use a CAT5 cable and I have a yellow CAT5 patch cable which also says crossover on the lead too, is this the corretc lead.

Also which port on the linksys router should it be plugged into. I have 4 numbered ports 1-5, 1 port called uplink and 1 port called WAN.

So which hole do i plug the lead rfom the access point into and is the cable the right one.

Im totally lost and stressed.

You want a standard CAT5 cable rather than a crossover going from the router to the WAP. Crossovers are for linking 2 PC's without a router. I have the Belkin 54g WAP and card and its working a treat.

Also you should plug the WAP into the port marked Uplink.

normal CAT5 into any port that is a standard port i.e a normal port you would plug a computer into
