I'm looking at getting a Samsung 1604N. For £104 at www.savastore.com it seems a bit of a bargain
Apparently its as quiet as a Seagate Barracuder VS.
Can anyone forsee any problems using this in my hcpc which I'm in the process of getting built?
Should be ok. One word of warning though - if you are going to have a single partition larger than 137gb then for god sake read this:
http://www.samsung.com/Products/HardDiskDrive/support/faqs/137GB-barrier.htm
I had a 200gb Maxtor running on XP SP1 and it all looked fine and was happily adding stuff. Then as soon as I hit 137gb it trashed and i lost everything because I didn't run a little 64k "large drive enabler" utility... one of the downsides in buying OEM :(
So either partition it up or read up :)

The 120GB drive is better value. ~ £0.60/GB vs £0.65/GB.
but does Samsung make good harddrives ?
There has got to be a reason why they are cheaper than every other HD. If they are anything like IBM drives, i would stay well away...

Its got good reviews
I've just ordered a 160gb. i would have had to wait for 2-3 weeks for the 120gb
I'll keep you posted as to how I get on
Thanks for the help
